Square Cash App Launches Fractional Investing

by Alan Daniel

Remember when we hinted that the product team at Square Cash app might be delving into commission-free stock trading earlier? Well Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter and Square, just confirmed that his user-friendly fintech application would support commission-free trading, allowing Cash App users to buy and sell stocks easily and quickly.

Additionally, cash app users will now have the functionality to buy fractions of stocks such as Berkshire Hathaway, Google, and Amazon. Stocks that may have been out of reach for investors in the past are now available through simple fractional investing.

Jack tweeted, “Now anyone can buy $42 or even $1 worth of Berkshire Hathaway A ($BRK.A, or $TSLA or $SFIX or…) instantly and for free right in @CashApp. Really proud of the team for making buying stocks and building wealth accessible to more people. Rolling out now! @WarrenBuffett!“

It is a new era for investing as traditional discount brokerages, and new entrants such as Square, All of Us, and Robinhood, slash trading costs all the way down to zero dollars.

Square Continues to Stay Nimble and Competitive

The fintech firm, Square, continues to roll out features that make sense within its consumer-friendly mobile application. The company is likely to experience more user activity as it rolls out the best of both worlds for its users (investing affordably).

Square Cash App started with providing features such as sending money between friends and acquaintances and then progressed to adding features such as investing. It has a unique advantage over other firms like Betterment, Robinhood, or Stockpile because users already send and receive money with it regularly. A growing portion of users undoubtedly store funds on their Cash App account, use Square’s debit card to swipe, and make transactions with merchants.

Consumers can access funds, make payments, swipe their debit cards, and trade bitcoin and now stocks as well all from their Square application. Square Cash app serves as an intuitive app for all your financial needs.
